With the launch of this new program, we wanted to outline some of the specifics for why we started it and what it will look like.
Why: As one of the first web3 funds exclusively founded by web3 founders, building is at the heart of what we do. Not content investing from the sidelines, our EIR program will allow us to get our hands dirty building incredible companies alongside the best talent in the industry. For prospective EIRs, this program allows you to test and refine new ideas in a highly supportive and collaborative environment.
Who: We’re looking for technical, highly committed builders who want to create the next great web3 companies. Like with our investment thesis, you don’t need to have a background in web3. We don’t care how old you are or where you live. You just need to be deeply committed to building big ideas in the world of web3.
What: The Symbolic EIR is for builders of all stages and walks of life. You can come into the program with an idea that you know you want to work on or focus on one of our own internal ideas. During your appointment as an EIR, we expect you to rapidly iterate and focus on pursuing ideas that can grow into venture-scale businesses. Further, during the EIR program, you will work closely with the Symbolic team and will have opportunities to collaborate on investment DD and industry research in fields relevant to your areas of expertise. Overall, our goal is to work closely with our EIRs in order to get them to a point where they can found a company, hire an initial team, and launch their startup, at which point they will graduate from the EIR program.
When: Applications for our EIR program are currently live and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If accepted, the timeline for an EIR is somewhat flexible, anywhere from 3-12 months depending on how far along an EIR is with their idea when accepted into the program.
